This week's Time-Saving Tips are all about boosting your business productivity with clever Google Chrome hacks. These will help you streamline your workflow, so you can concentrate on what truly matters.
Business Productivity Hack 1: Tired of Cluttered tabs?
Save Sites to Read Later by Utilizing the Reading List in your Side Panel.
How many times have you clicked on something (maybe a freebie? maybe a competitor's website? maybe an offer from a coach or service provider that you don't have time to evaluate yet) and left that tab open all day... or multiple days... into oblivion??
Having too many tabs open takes up memory and slows down your computer.
Use this hack to keep your speed maximized and still save those "I want to look at this later" sites.
Simply click on the Side Panel icon to open your reading pane. Here's what the side panel icon looks like:
It's located on the top right of your Chrome browser (next to your profile icon).
After you open, choose "reading list" from the drop-down, and click "Add current tab" for it to be added to your reading list for later.
Then, schedule time in your calendar to come back and read these.
You can even check it off and/or delete it after you've read it!!!
Business Productivity Hack 2: Lost an important page?
Effortlessly Revisit Your Online Journeys by Utilizing the Journeys feature
Have you ever accidentally exited out of a tab you needed to work in? Or maybe you were navigating around a website and wanted to go back to a subpage?
Your Google Chrome side panel has a "journeys" feature that enables you to come right back to where you left off, even if it was a few days ago. This feature showcases each page you were on and the different subpages you navigated to while there, so you can easily go back to them later.
Simply open the Side Panel and change the drop-down to "Journeys". Scroll down to see your history.
If you click on the 3 dots for each site, you have the following options:
Open all in new tab group
Hide all items
Remove all from history
Pretty awesome!
Business Productivity Hack 3: Tired of searching through your bookmarks or browser history?
Use the new @ mention in your address bar to quickly find bookmarks, history, or tabs without taking your hands off the keyboard
I absolutely LOVE this hack. While I do strive to keep my bookmarks clean and organized with folders, being able to access something quickly just by typing in the address bar is a game-changer.
Here's how:
Which of these features are you most excited to try?
Reading List
Journeys
Using @ in address bar to access bookmarks & history
